The first EJTN onsite activity this year took place between 2-3 September in Pirna, Germany. The EJTN two days course on ‘Conflict of laws in contractual and non-contractual matters (Rome I. and II.)’ was organised by EJTN at the first instance courthouse (Amtsgericht) in Pirna.
This two-day long seminar aimed to raise awareness about the European dimension in the field of applicable law to contractual and non – contractual obligations and provided a training on the EU Regulations. The seminar had a practice- orientation and focused on peer and expert training.
26 participants from different Member States, such as Italy, Spain, Estonia, Portugal, Slovenia, Czechia, Latvia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Croatia, Romania and Poland were engaged in this onsite activity.
The course was based on training sessions hosted by national and international practitioner as well as trainers whose professional performance reflects the excellence of the teaching-pedagogical environment at institutions such as University of Geneva, University of Innsbruck, University of Zagreb, University of Ferrara and University of Cyprus. The sessions included both theoretical and practical components, while several case studies were presented to share the acquired knowledge and experiences and to contribute to the formalisation of a unified vision of applicable law to contractual and non – contractual obligations in the European Union.
