The European Judicial Training Network and the national judicial institutions of the EU Member States are glad to share that the first 2021 AIAKOS exchange will soon take place as of 17 May 2021.
Main target and learning objectives:
Launched in 2014, the AIAKOS programme offers a unique exchange platform for future and early-career judges and prosecutors to learn and exchange views about different national judicial systems, foster mutual trust and raise their awareness of the European dimension of their (future) work.
Participants from 10 EU Member States and Western Balkans countries will be welcomed by 6 foreign countries’ judicial authorities with the aim to share knowledge and to increase the cooperation among professionals, countries, and institutions.
Due to the harsh sanitary context in all European countries, the spring session of the 2021 AIAKOS programme will take place virtually from 17 to 21 May 2021.
In order to renew the attractivity and their teaching offer, spring’s hosting institutions will implement new webinars and sessions into their programmes.
For the first time since AIAKOS creation, a joint session will be held online simultaneously for all participants in all hosting institutions. The session will focus on the topic of “unconscious bias” with the aim to help trainees understand how bias can shape the decision-making and its positive aspects.
The seminar will contribute to strengthen the feeling of belonging to a common judicial space and culture, as well as the identity of (future) European judges and prosecutors.
