The Criminal Justice Sub Working group meeting took place in Madrid on 20-21 September. The Spanish State Attorney General, Mrs Dolores Delgado welcomed the participants of the Sub working group, which was hosted for the first time at the State Attorney General's Office. The meeting chaired by the Convener of the Subgroup, Mrs Elsa García-Maltrás, Prosecutor at the Technical Secretariat of the Office, was held with a hybrid formula and gathered face-to-face representatives from different national training institutions from France, Greece, Germany, Sweden, Lithuania and Portugal and the Academy of European Law (ERA-Trier). Judge Markus Brueckner, Secretary General of the EJTN and his team also attended the meeting. Representatives of national training institutions from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Romania, Croatia attended the event online.
Mrs Dolores Delgado highlighted the works of the Sub Working Group and the significant collaboration between the Attorney General's Office and EJTN as a way to reinforce the autonomy of prosecutors in their professional training.
During the meeting, delegates discussed the annual work programme for 2022 training activities offered as cybercrime, cross-border cooperation, safeguards, protection of victims, asset recovery and European Public Prosecutor's Office, among others as well as challenges of the digitalisation of EJTN in the area of Criminal Justice.
