- EJTN invited to an exchange of views with the JURI Committee.
- The session covered raising awareness of EJTN and its activities, achievements and future prospects.
On January 30, 2017, The European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) was honoured to be invited for an exchange of views with the JURI Committee, the Committee on Legal Affairs of the European Parliament.
EJTN was represented by its Secretary General, Judge Wojciech Postulski and the Chair of its Steering Committee, Valérie Sagant, Deputy Director of the French School for the Judiciary (ENM). EJTN’s Head of Office, Quentin Balthazart, also accompanied the delegation.
The session introduced EJTN to Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) as well as highlighted EJTN’s key achievements over the past year.
This was also an ideal opportunity to raise the awareness of EJTN’s hallmark Judicial Training Principles, which were recently adopted. The principles provide a common foundation and framework for Europe’s judiciary and judicial training institutions alike.
The session then informed MEPs about EJTN’s ongoing discussions in relation to its future perspectives after 2020, namely in relation to EJTN’s upcoming Strategic Plan 2021-2027.
