Criminal justice seminars: growing interest among the EU judiciary
Tuesday, December 13, 2011
- EJTN continues consolidating its innovative model to train EU judges and prosecutors in judicial cooperation.
- Fischbachau and Rome seminars gathered more than 90 participants in the simultaneous events.
The third set of seminars on International judicial cooperation in criminal matters in practice, simultaneous seminars sets, EAW and MLA simulations, which was held simultaneously in Fischbachau (Bavarian region) and Rome last 24-25-26 October, brought a significant added value for judges and prosecutors attending both events.
The interactive approach, the practical cases and the methodology of the seminars have been highly appreciated by the delegates attending both seminars. The simulation of a real environment of judicial cooperation request among two EU Member States (the role playing exercise) represents a step taking the training forward in judicial cooperation in criminal matters.
The permanent presence of representatives of EUROJUST, EJN contact points, national and EU experts in these simultaneous events contributed to encourage mutual trust and shared best practices between judges and prosecutors aiming to promote a genuine European judicial culture.
More information is now available on the Criminal Justice Project webpage.
