Description: Two-days event led by practitioners, academics and court officials on key issues surrounding the EU Preliminary Ruling Procedure. The training is based on practical workshops and framework lectures addressing the instances warranting referral of questions to the CJEU, the practical drafting and formulation of questions to the court, national reports on domestic cases of court referral, the interpretation and implementation of CJEU’s judgments, and the latter’s views on the best practices in this field.
The second day of training will include a visit to the Luxembourg Court, where participants will benefit from a general presentation of the court and will attend a court hearing.
Participants are expected to have some background knowledge of the subject and to engage in active discussions with their counterparts from across the EU. This training seeks to operate as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and best practices among colleagues, the debate of key developments in this field, and the creation of lasting networks of judicial cooperation and understanding.
Target group: Judges from all EU Member States.
