Course Description

The conference is targeted at judges of all judicial authorities, as well as public prosecutors.
Political extremism in its different forms - foreign extremism, left extremism and right extremism - poses a great many challenges for liberal democracy. Starting by presenting the current state of extremist scenes and the various different concepts concealed behind the collective term “political extremism”, the various causes and manifestations of extremist activity are analysed from a different point of view, the effects on our domestic security are investigated and the opportunities for appropriate and effective state and social reactions are discussed. In so doing, the role of the judiciary and the criminal-law fight against terrorism on a national and international level shall be illuminated.
