In the context of increasing internationalization of societies, international and European legislation and case-law have a growing influence on national legislation and judicial practice; these areas of the law must be properly understood by judges in order to perform their judicial functions according to the principle of the rule of law shared by democratic countries. They must know and be able to apply international and European law, in particular regarding the human rights issues. The national experience is crucial in this field. The seminar aims to bring together judges and prosecutors from different Member States in order to discuss their experience in the matter of direct application of European Convention of Human Rights.
For this seminar NIM is covering accommodation and meals for all the participants. International transport will remain in the charge of each participant.
