Course Description

Adoption is a social issue, involving legal, social, psychological and diplomatic skills. It also involves considerable input from both social services and the community. The aim of the session is to provide a deeper understanding of the legal framework of adoption and all the aspects of the process, from the adoptive family's request for consent up to the final decision.

The course aims to provide an overview of international and domestic adoption, even if the latter is numerically less significant. The approach is multi-disciplinary. Ordinary adoption and the specific problems that it poses will also be dealt with.
